Hi all, welcome to the new NZMRG trade news for November 2024. I’ve decided to post this regular update here.
Charcoal Bay Models
The 1:64 scale model buildings produced by Charcoal Bay Models are now available via the Guild’s store. You can find the Charcoal Bay shop here. Garth described his process for creating the “main street project” here.
We look forward to adding more products from New Zealand model railway manufacturers to our shop, to make it easier for our members (and supporters) to find NZR models. There is no charge for hosting images etc on the website, just a small fee (5%) on every sale made.
VCC Models
Attached is the latest news from VCC Models – News from the workshops. The newsletter includes a tribute to the late Ken Cousins, as well as an update on the next Matariki modelling weekend, to be held again at the Woodville Railway Station in 2025.

JH Designs
JH Designs are scoping interest in 1:64 “ribbed” 20 foot ISO containers (picture below).

With the arrival of the DM class locomotives in New Zealand from Spain, the 3 Foot 6 Models DM class design has been altered again, thanks to the availability of detailed pictures of the locos from railfans and KiwiRail. This should ship in the next few weeks.
